Abstract

Flustered by Facebook®? Troubled by Twitter®? Perplexed by Pinterest®? This article provides an overview of the most effective social media tools today—with an emphasis on how nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation centers and organizations can use social media to support their wildlife work. Learn how to effectively and professionally share stories with others while garnering organizational support.

Author Biography

Amanda Nicholson, Wildlife Center of Virginia

Amanda Nicholson is the director of outreach at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. She graduated with a degree in biology from Bridgewater College in 2001, and immediately joined the staff as the weekend receptionist and a part–time rehabilitator. Amanda has held several positions at the Wildlife Center; as the director of outreach, she oversees the department responsible for public education and community involvement.
