Abstract

Having a permit to rehabilitate coyotes means contending with the horrific persecution and bad press given to this species. It is possible to justify coyote rehabilitation and even to advocate for peaceful co–existence if one is fully prepared with the facts. This means understanding historical and current conflict issues, learning coyote biology and the key role coyotes play in biodiversity, and providing professional, non–adversarial intervention.
