Author Biography

Elaine Friedman, Corvid Connection

Elaine Friedman has worked in the field of wildlife education and rehabilitation for the past 18 years. Currently the Director of Corvid Connection, a wildlife education non-profit organization, Elaine still helps a number of centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, doing wildlife rehabilitation, educational programs, designing activities to bring out natural behaviors and reduce stress, and advising on animal handling techniques and equipment. Elaine has had the opportunity over the years to work with many species of birds, mammals, and reptiles, and those experiences have helped to mold the ideas for stress reduction presented in this article.
